Lily didn’t have a great start to life. When she was just a tiny puppy, she was found in a box on the side of the road in the middle of winter.
In Soda Springs, Idaho, where Lily was abandoned, temperatures regularly drop below freezing, sometimes averaging lows of 8-9 degrees F.
Considering puppies need food and shelter to survive, it wasn’t surprising when rescuers discovered many of Lily’s siblings had frozen to death by the time they arrived.
It was traumatic and sad, but for the little pups who survived the ordeal, life would never be that hard again.
Lily ended up finding a home with a man in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. According to ViralHog, Lily now has a “wonderful life…chasing squirrels and going on car rides all over the country.”
When she shits shotgun with her owner on their car rides, she insists on holding his hand. It’s so sweet!
In a video shared by ViralHog, you can see Lily in the front seat next to her owner. The two are driving along, and suddenly, Lily holds out her paw and gives her owner a look.
The man knew exactly what she wanted and reached out to hold her paw. The clip is short, only 12 seconds long, but it shows how far Lily has come and how much love and trust she has for her new owner.
