When Malinda Herman got into a car crash 20 years ago, her entire life turned upside down. The collision not only damaged her nerves, but also paralyzed the left side of her face. Malinda didn’t lose hope, and started some vocal exercises to regain movement in her face. This became a transcending experience for Malinda, as she discovered her love for singing which helped her get through the vulnerable times.
Soon, she started singing to her pets too. Over the years, Malinda’s perseverance and the calming presence of her pets have helped her heal herself by almost 75 percent! Today, at 70 years old, Malinda’s life has taken an entirely different turn.
Malinda is no longer known as the paralyzed lady, but is now famous as the “hipster grandma” who sings covers of classic hits with her adorable Chihuahua, Jiw Jam, nestled beside her. Her raw voice tugs at people’s hearts, while Jiw Jam’s soothing expressions to her grandma’s songs leave everyone swooning in wonder! We wish Malinda and Jiw Jam many happy years of singing together!
