The Monroe County Animal Shelter has alerted the public about a heartbreaking case of dumped puppies along the Telegraph and the I-275 area, writes ilovemydogsomuch
As per local reports, several dumped German Shepherd puppies were found scattered beside the freeway. All of them are suffering from the deadly Parvo virus.
So far, 4 puppies have been discovered. 2 of the puppies were buried in a dark ditch. A trucker had witnessed one of the puppies being thrown out of the window of a moving car.
However, nothing else is known about the spineless owners of these unfortunate puppies. The shelter believes that more puppies could be discovered in the next few days.
The sick puppies were transferred to “Lucas County Pit Crew”, where they were immediately put under emergency care. Sadly, 2 of the puppies passed away after battling the potent virus.
The vets have requested people to alert the authorities if they encounter such dumped puppies and not let them near other animals as Parvo is highly contagious.
German Shepherds are highly vulnerable to catching the Parvo virus, but it can easily be prevented by timely vaccinations. It is truly disturbing to think that the owners chose to dump the puppies instead of getting them to the vet.
